The Ionic capitals in the Muslim wall of Marbella

I had read many times how early medieval builders reused stones that had previously been part of pagan temples and palaces in Western Europe, yet never had I seen one such example with my own eyes. Here in Marbella in southern Spain one can clearly see two Ionic capital embedded into the masonry of the  10th-century defensive tower. I have spotted three such capitals but there might be more. The Muslims had fortified Marbal-la, as they then called it, against Norman incursions on the coast after the 711 invasion of the peninsula.

The two capitals seem to have fossilised in the wall.
